This interesting line of carpets was created by Richard Hutten and exhibited by I+I in Rotterdam, earlier this year. It features rugs with traditional patterns which at a certain point become stretched into regular lines. Here is how the artist came up with the idea for the carpets in the first place: “For the carpet I did research in the various patterns available. Than I came up with the idea to stretch the carpet a certain point. I found out it’s very important where to start the stretching. On the traditional side I kept the fringes, on the contemporary side I made a clear cut.” We think these designs are quite interesting and we are looking forward to your impressions as well. Do you like these stretched carpets better than the original ones?
